Wishing safety and stability across the Middle East

My thoughts are with all those in the United Arab Emirates, Iran and across the wider region during this difficult time. These are communities rich in history, culture, ambition and resilience. Beyond news and politics, there are millions of individuals who wake up each day focused on building businesses, raising families, pursuing education and contributing positively to society.

The United Arab Emirates stands as a model of stability and forward-looking leadership, supported by a comprehensive security system that protects all residents and ensures daily life continues without disruption. The UAE has once again demonstrated thoughtful leadership and unity, safeguarding everyone within its borders and treating each individual as its own – without distinction of nationality, faith or background. This spirit of inclusivity and responsibility reminds us that the strength of any nation lies in the security and confidence of all who live within its borders.

These regional challenges, especially disruptions to energy infrastructure and threats around the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, highlight the far-reaching impact on global markets. Oil and gas prices have surged on fears of interrupted supply, and many stock markets have retreated amid heightened geopolitical risk. The situation is also pushing up shipping and insurance costs, signalling the possibility of further volatility and ripple effects through global supply chains.

As someone who values long-term growth, collaboration and economic progress, I firmly believe that stability and peace are the foundations upon which prosperity is built. Thriving markets, innovation and opportunity can only flourish where people feel secure and supported.

It is my sincere wish that all communities in the region remain safe, that tensions are eased through dialogue, and that leaders continue to prioritise the well-being of their people.

May calm prevail, may wisdom guide decisions, and may the people of all nations in the region move forward in safety and stability.
